Der Weg Nach Drakonia
With 6 players this becomes a team game where you can play on yourself or your partner. The goal is to move your figures as far along the path as possible to gain the most score. Special cards allow you to move a certain piece forwards and certain backwards, wound, heal, etc. It plays like an abstract puzzle game but, it was enjoyable and I really liked it with partners as it gave you more options and some discussion on strategy. This one came down to the wire as Kris and Ted or Tony and Dave could end the game. Both sets of partners needed the right cards to get the winning score. Dave and Tony managed the victory.
Railroad Tycoon California
We do like Railroad Tycoon even if it is a bit long. The California map is a nice addition and well worth the effort to print. Dave kept up his winning streak in this game with another solid victory.
Palatinus
Another game recently acquired cheaply that had mixed reviews. This is one of those games that you really have to play one time, score and see what happens. Noone really knew what was going on until the final scoring. And, that is not a critical issue because the game plays very quickly....15-20 minutes. Dave managed the win and Ted was lucky to score any points at all. However, the game has potential and we need to give it another go soon.
Go West
A quick ender requested by Kris. The wagons forged west as Tony came from behind near the end. It was Tony and Ted competing for the chance to score at the right time or end the game with the win. Ted managed to get the right timing for the victory.
