It was nice to have Todd back to join us bringing us to 5 for the evening with Tony, James, Kris, Todd and Ted.

Einfach Genial

My family has fallen for this game recently and it has seen a bit of play. We decided to break it out while waiting for everyone to arrive and played partners. Todd and James were not to be trifled with and proved to be the “geniuses”

Oasis

James had requested this one as it was one of the few 5 player games on the shelf he had not tried. I started out as Camel boy but could amass no blankets for scoring. Kris surpassed my camels and Todd focused on the Mesas while Tony and James tried the well rounded approach. In the end it was Kris who managed to walk away....on his camels....with the win.

Big City

It has been a long time since I played this game with 5 players. It was fun, but I think it works better with less players. Mainly because the board just fills up so fast and you run out of buildings with 5 players. It is also difficult to get good sections of cards. In any event, this is a nice city building game and James managed to hold off Tony by one point for the win. The field was very close behind.

Cartel

Todd had to leave so we decided to play Cartel with 4. This game of Kris’ has been sitting around for several weeks waiting for a 4 player evening. This was the time. Tony just plain kicked butt. No one was even close to his masterful domination of the business world. He is actually thinking of changing professions now in the real world......8)
