We had 5 for gaming this evening with James, Kris, Nick, Charlie and Ted.
James wanted to make sure this session report was posted since he tried to make a clean sweep on the evening in terms of a winning streak. Thankfully, he was shut down on the last game so that his head could fit through the door and he could go home.
Cash
An old Kramer game where you are trying to crack safes by collecting the correct key combinations. It is a game of chicken as you get bonuses for cracking more than one safe at a time but if you wait too long, someone may steal the safe before you. James proved to be the master safe cracker.
Volldampf
Full steam ahead for this older Martin Wallace train game based on Lancaster Rails that is the for runner to Age of Steam and Railroad Tycoon. James managed to build a terrific route that yielded some serious income for the win. Charlie and Kris gave him a run while Nick and I fought for last place and tied for it.
Hacienda
This on has been on the shelf for a bit. James really wanted to break the shrink on this one so that he could go for his third win of the night. James took the hub and spoke method by building a big sector in the middle of the board. Nick focused on the south east corner. Kris decided to attack from the north and the south from two large groups while Charlie and I took the shotgun approach. James proved victorious again with his strategy.
Modern Art
We were off the world’s galleries for major art auctions. Thanks to Yoko and Lite Metal, I was able to amass the most wealth as a famous art dealer, finally breaking James’ winning streak.
Badaboom
Orcs disarming bombs. What is not to like? Well, the cute ideas just don’t hold up for me. This one will hit the trade pile. We abandoned the game as it was dragging and the hour was late.
Another great night of gaming.
