4/4/06

We had 4 this evening and this gave us an excellent opportunity to try some 4 player games that have been on the list for a while.  In attendance:  Charlie, James, Kris, and Ted.

Lost Valley

We started the evening exploring the Lost Valley.  Charlie and I hooked onto one side of the river that headed out way west while Kris and James took the eastern seaboard and stayed very close to camp.  Charlie and I managed to do all we could considering is was way too far back to camp to get supplies.  And, we had bad luck trying to find a trading post on the end of the river.  James and Kris found a plentiful set of mountain ranges with 12 total mountain gold and proceeded to hunt and mine. As winter set in, I managed the victory....had the game gone a couple of more turns, Kris would have gotten me.

Fun little exploration game with Rumbi....it probably should come out a little more and should play a little quicker next time.

Capitol

This has been on Kris’ want to play list for a while.  We built and stole neighborhoods from each other.  James proved to be the best builder.  We didn’t use the scoring columns.

Spiel Der Turme

With Queen promising to re-release this one, I wanted to give it a go.  This is best described as a multi-player abstract.  First play was difficult to get your head around.  I barely managed the win when James quickly ended the game one point short.  I think this one needs a few more plays to see if it will be a keeper.
