We are starting to see a consistent number of folks coming and are generally gaming at two tables at least some of the evening. This day was no exception.
Inn Fighting
Those of us with the disease need to pick up games from time to time and I saw this at Books A Million and just needed a quick fix so, I bought it. It is a light "take that" bar brawl with card powers and dice. Although designed for 4, we added up to six players as people arrived. Quick fun. Tony won.
Saloon
Inn Fighting reminded me so much of Saloon that we had to give that go while still waiting for a couple of more players. Saloon is another quick light, fun bar brawl. We spit on people, threw them out the door, thew whiskey at them, etc. Eventually our other two players arrived and set up a game on the other table. First two losers, Tony and I headed off to join that table. Tom was the winner.
Entdecker: In search of the Jade Goddess
Having Entdecker in the title is very appropriate as it does feel very much like Entdecker except you are in the jungle looking for lost cities. You now get gold by closing cities not with a dice or money wheel, and you score chits that make statutes as victory points when some islands close. These are worth a point each. If you can get a set of ABCD in a color you get a three point bonus and if all the the chits happen to have gold letters you get a 5 point bonus. So, the scoring is a little random, but to help you, there is a trading post where you can trade tiles from a pool of 5 or pay a gold to swap two with the draw bag. Michelle and I ended up on a lucky side of the board with lots of cities that gave victory chits. Even without set collecting, we just had a lot more chits than Charlie or Tony. Ted closed a gold set and a regular set for the victory.
Entdecker
Having finished the jade goddess and discussing Entdecker, we decided to give this one a go. We played the second edition with the huts. Ted was just on an exploration role and took this game as well.
