It was great to have Nick back for a session to bring us up to 6.  At the table, Nick, Charlie, James, Tony, Kris, and Ted.

Railroad Tycoon – Europe

At the gathering, I saw this at a table being played.  It turns out, someone on the Geek has made up a Europe map and new cards for Railroad Tycoon.  Well, everyone knows that I like this game so, it was off to Staples to get the map printed and mounted.  It came out in a nice glossy full color, foldable board that fits into the game box and is mounted on Foam Core.  Nicely it sits right on top of the original board so you can use the original score track and tables.  The game is pretty standard Railroad Tycoon on another map.  However, they did a great job with the map and the main differences to me seem to be a ton of gray cities.  And, now you get bonus cards for end game scoring which are open and we played you could get more than one if you met the requirements.  Kris proved to be the best Robber Baron of the night.

Evo

Nick had to leave so that left us with 5.   Evo has been on Kris’s play list for many months and this seemed like as good a time as any to fit this game in.  We played the version where you bid for one less gene than the number of players to add tension.  For gamers, I like it better this way.  I seemed to take the strategy of saving my victory points from bidding to stay ahead.  If the game would have ended early, it would have paid off.  As it turns out, James passed me on the last turn for the win.
