We have new neighbors. They just bought the house next door and will be moving in a few months. There were in town this week starting with their move and being the social animals we are, we invited them over for game night. Turns out they both like games.

We were six waiting for James to arrive.

When James arrived we decided to split into two tables. One crew had been longing to play Marvel Heroes so Tony, Adam, Michelle, and Ted took off for Europe in Ticket To Ride.

Ticket To Ride Europe
Tony suggested this game and since we have three versions, Michelle opted to try Europe. After a quick rules review every jumped right in. It became clear very early why Tony suggested this game. Apparently, he has been practicing!!! Not only did he beat us straight up but then brought home the longest route bonus.

Michelle and Adam had to leave us as they have younger children and mother was baby sitting. So, Tony and I continued on with two player games and the slug fest went on at the next table.

Tony picked this one out. I managed to run up a great streak of cards early and took a pretty quick win.

Lord of the Rings the Duel
I picked this one. I like this one. It was tied going into the final battle with a very close game. Tony was expressing his frustration with Gandalf when I mentioned I played Gandalf a lot and never really won the game. Well, after making me put all my cards face up on the table with a Gandalf special power, Tony meticulously worked me down to the last card for the win. Great job. Now I can honestly say it is not Gandalf .....I guess I just can't win this game on either side!

Marvel Heroes
The other table slugged through rules as no one had played before. The game went on long after Tony left and into the wee hours. I would put it at about 4.5-5 hours. I will let someone else fill in the details.
